Question: Under what circumstances will an employer be discharged from the security bond liability in Singapore, and what are the key conditions that need to be met for this discharge to occur?

Answer: An employer in Singapore will be discharged from the security bond liability under the following conditions:
1. The employer has canceled the Work Permit.
2. The domestic helper has returned to their home country.
3. The employer has not breached any of the security bond conditions.
If all of these conditions are met, the security bond will typically be discharged approximately one week after the domestic helper has left Singapore. The employer will receive a notification by post when the security bond is discharged

Answer: For migrant domestic workers (MDWs) in Singapore, employers are required to purchase both medical insurance (MI) and personal accident insurance before the helper's arrival in Singapore. Employers are responsible for buying these insurance policies as part of their medical obligations to the MDW. It's important to note that the cost of purchasing these insurance policies cannot be passed on to the helper.

Question: What criteria define a Frequent Change Employer in Singapore regarding the hiring of migrant domestic workers (MDWs), and what requirements must they meet before employing another worker?

Answer: A Frequent Change Employer in Singapore is defined as someone who has changed migrant domestic workers (MDWs) multiple times within a 12-month period. If you are employing your 4th MDW within that 12-month period, you will be required to attend a classroom Employers' Orientation Programme (EOP) or participate in an interview with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), as specified in the letter sent to you before your application is processed. It's important to note that you cannot appoint a representative to attend the EOP or interview on your behalf.
